Red, Yellow, Orange, and Green... Oh My!

We went driving up Squaw Peak this week and the leaves were stunning. I have never seen such beautiful fall leaves ever. I wish the pictures could capture the amazing optical display but sadly fall leaves, like sunsets, are not photogenic whatsoever. Here are a few of the favourites for every one to enjoy. Happy Fall!

That should be said with a Spanish accent.

Great pics Alli!

How is school? I miss you!

Oh- I miss you too. School is fine but stressful. I don't think I can come home this weekend b/c I have to lead the class discussion for my Feminism seminar next Tuesday and I have to start researching for my 2 20 page papers and my research project in my Spectatorship theory class. Plus, the annual Fall assembly is this Friday and that is taking up A LOT of my time this week. C'est la Vie!
Thanks for thinking about me; I really appreciate all that you do for me as my sisters and more imporantly my friends. There are no words to describe how much you all mean to me. Have a great week and I am so proud of Lesley for her commitment and success this past week- you're awesome!

Spectatorship? Do you get to read John Tagg on "A Discourse (With Shape of Reason Missing)"? How I wish I could relive those halcyon days of yore... By the way, I think you would find the etymology of "halcyon" amusing.

I get to read US Weekly this week! Boy, it is stressful! Ha Ha

halcyon |ˈhalsēən|
adjective denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful : the halcyon days of the mid-1980s, when profits were soaring.

ORIGIN late Middle English (in the mythological sense): via Latin from Greek alkuōn ‘kingfisher’ (also halkuōn, by association with hals ‘sea’ and kuōn ‘conceiving’ ).

Well Nathan- Nice to see you commenting again; I thought we lost you. I did find the definition of 'halcyon' interesting (note above) but I cannot see how a kingfisher could turn into euphoria. Oh well. I am so glad that your days as a graduate student here at BYU were so happy for you. I am still yearning for that luxury, but am loving the program all the same!

How I wish I were there to join you! By the way, I think there's more to the kingfisher bit if you look for it.

Cheers,
Nathan

Beautiful pictures - I wish I could comment on your comments, but they kind of went over my head! That is education for you, I guess!

How is the reading comeing? Did you get a lot done yesterday? I hope so!

Since it was Saturday, of course I got nothing done! We had to deal with the post-fall assembly hangover with running errands and returning borrowed items. Then Ashley's little sister came down and let us use her beauty school student discount at Taylor Maid and we got Paul Mitchel shampoos for over 50% off. Then I was invited to dinner with the Nish Family, and then we started to watch Hocus Pocus, then came home and went to bed... I had fun, but got nothing done. Now I've been spending all of Sunday afternoon and night reading what I should have read yesterday. My life is SO glamourous.

you two are both bad at getting home work done. At least when I lived with you we had fun and got work done at the same time, or at least I got my work done.

Lesley, I love you, but that made no sense at all. You've only been out of college for almost 2 months and are you already forgetting things? "If you don't use it, you'll loose it"

It was fun to see you girls yesterday!

I am so beyond happy that my Lesley came down to see me! Even though I spent most of our time together grading exams- I still had a wonderful and felt 'normal' for the first time in 2 months. All I can say is that I am so lucky to have such a wonderful best friend like Ashley or else who knows where I'd be now.
