Happy Birthday to my Fellow Cat Lady!!!

Yes, our birthday was a week ago but I still wanted to document the occasion. :)
I am so lucky to be an identical twin and that my twin is my very best friend. We often joke that we are the same person in two bodies!
This picture was taken around Easter at our house on Scottish Drive when Lesley and I were 3 or 4 years old. I remember loving this dress and wearing this teddy bear necklace (I felt so grown up!!).
Lesley is holding our beloved cat Berkely. This picture is proof that we a love cats for as long as we can remember! He ran away while we were in Disneyland in 1989.

Birthday Brunch

For our 31st birthday, my mom hosted a yummy brunch at her house. It was all of my favorite food with my favorite people!
Mom made it really special with her fancy China and crystal glasses filled with fresh squeezed orange juice. It was really special.

Last Day as a 30 year old

I feel so special today.
First- my desk was decorated with streamers and a banner when I got in to work this morning.
Second- my boss brought me flowers and a Happy Birthday balloon.
Third- my brother in law surprised me with gorgeous flowers and balloons at my desk in the afternoon. Thanks Haley and Steve!!!
Fourth- I went to the Salt Lake Temple after work.
Fifth- I saw a great movie called The Woman in Gold. I had not heard much about this movie but it was wonderful.

Tomorrow is going to be fun!!

I have the world's cutest nieces and nephews!! My mom made all the girls matching skirts and got them all new colored Converse shoes. The colors look so amazing on camera!! Getting Cate to smile was a group effort but the photographer got great shots of each of the kids. I sure do love these little humans a lot.

Our Day in Orange County 4/11/2015

It was a pool, cheer, Disney, beach kind of Saturday!!
We filmed a silent movie at the pool, then went to Downtown Disney for lunch, then to see our Valie's cheer competition at the Anaheim Convention Center, then on to Huntington Beach for the sunset. It was a glorious day!!

Today is my wonderful grandmother's 87th birthday.
She is amazing and lovely and fantastic. She is always caring and kind. You will never meet a more generous person; she has literally given the clothes off her back.
If there is any way I could possible resemble her in any way, then I would consider myself a success.
Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Catherine turned 1 year old and we celebrated this weekend. She is such a wonderful addition to our family!! I can remember life without Cate but I cannot imagine my life without her. Pure and true love.

Public recognition is a better motivator than money

I work for the coolest company ever!!! They held a raffle for all those who worked overtime during the first of the year and I won an iPad Mini!!!
I was so shocked!!
It is amazing how wonderful it is to feel valued by your employers and get recognition for your hard work.

I Need a Kleenex

I spent all day doing laundry and cleaning my apartment.
I washed nearly everything I own.
I am very physically tired and yet I cannot sleep.
I have been lying in bed for hours but the cleaning fumes are keeping me awake.
Plus, I have a cold that will not go away.
I guess I should be happy that at least I can breathe through my nose,
Even if all I smell is Clorox.

Valentine's Day 2015 Morning

This was a most excellent Saint Valentine's Day.
The day started with my nephew getting baptized and joining the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so proud of him for choosing to follow the example of our Savior and being baptized by immersion by one who holds the proper authority. I could feel so much love in the chapel when Aaron was confirmed a member and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. I could feel the love of our Heavenly Father for all of His children, and how happy He is when we start on our path back to His presence with the ordinance of Baptism. The Plan of Salvation is true and wonderful, and it is only made possible by our Savior, Jesus Christ who preformed the ultimate act of love by suffering for our sins in Gethsemane and again on the cross at Golgotha. I know my Savior, Jesus Christ lives and because He lives, I know we all will live again and we will have the opportunity to live with our families and our Father in Heaven for all eternity.
Not only could I feel the love of God for His children, I felt the love of my earthly father. I felt like he was there with us, watching over us, and that he was proud of his posterity. The veil is thin, especially in life event days, and I love knowing my dad is still with us in spirit. We will one day be reunited and never separated again. The love of God and the love in our Eternal Family is amazing.
Witnessing Aaron's baptism was the best way to celebrate this day of love, in all its forms. I am lucky to be loved so greatly and that I get to feel love so powerfully.
Hope and love are the greatest feelings in the universe.

Valentine's Day 2015

Lesley and I went to buy ourselves a Valentine treat. We went to Charming Charlie's jewelry and accessory store. I bought these cute earrings but I'm not sure if I love them or not. Are they too weird? Do I love them because they are weird? Yes! I love things that are different.
We stopped at Walgreen's on Thursday night to look for Valentine stuff for our office and I saw these Hello Kitty Valentines. I did not buy them but I thought they were super cute. I love anything Hello Kitty; Always Have and I Always Will.

I worked 5 weeks in January

I know what you might be thinking, "Alli, there are only 4 weeks in a month so there is no way you worked 5 weeks in January" and you would correct. I worked the equivalent of 5 weeks in the past 4 weeks.
I have worked 5 10 hour days a week since Christmas. My boss asked if I can continue working like this for the next 2 months. I have nothing else to do and I'm so excited to be approved for all of this paid over-time. I'm so grateful to be allowed to work so much!!
I'm saving up for a new used-car and I really hate the idea of a car payment so the more I can save, the better.
My siblings came with me to the car show to look at cars and my top 3 are: Subaru Impreza hatch back, Hyundai Elantra hatch back, and the VW Golf.
